Dina Sadek’s review of Boot Camps Monterey

When i first signed up to bootcamp i wanted to loose the last 5 kg of my baby weight that i was struggling to shift. I successfully lost my baby weight with my first child but 2nd time around i was much more busier and found it harder to loose the weight. I heard about Randa’s bootcamp from a friend who also has children. When she mentioned it was a mums and bubs class i was instantly interested as i knew this would cater to my needs. I was a bit hesitant the first time i went as i had not done any formal exercise as such for at least 4 years and i didn’t know how i would cope with taking my 3 month old along to the sessions. Randa was just wonderful with making me feel welcome and at ease. She made sure she understood exactly what my goals were and made me believe from day one i could achieve them. I have to admit though after the first session i was shocked at how unfit i was !! i really thought i was pretty fit as i walk regularly and keep active with my work and everyday duties. I was sore all over for about a week after my first session. As the weeks passed i noticed i was getting fitter and stronger and doing things i really NEVER imagined i could achieve. I felt like my body kept proving my brain wrong. My mind will say ” no way you can never do that or achieve this” and then when Randa encouraged me to give it a go my body would actually do it!! Id have to look back after a few training sessions and say to myself ” well actually i CAN do it!!” . The negative talk in my head was starting to become more positive and as the weeks passed i felt the motivation to achieve my goals of loosing weight and looking better increase day by day.

I have to admit i am not the type of person who enjoys exercise and i usually dread the thought of it. The great thing about Randa’s training sessions is that she always did something different at each session. You never know which way it was going to go and i think that kept it interesting for me and guessing whats next. I never felt it was boring and when ever i thought it was getting “easier” to get through the training session she’d throw something at us that would surprise us and make us step it up to the next level in order to gain more.

Randa was always very accommodating with regards to having my 3 month old there , sometimes i used to breastfeed in between activities and then keep going with my training. Also my 3 year old would join in and loved watching mummy get fit. If i missed a session my 3 year old would say ” mummy when are we going to see Randa to do healthy exercise”. I loved the fact that this was placing positive reinforcements regarding health and wellbeing into her mind at such a young age. I felt proud to be a good role model of healthy living for my daughter. By the 3 month mark i felt that Randa was my friend rather than my trainer and she would always go the extra mile to make sure i was on the right track. Even when i had to withhold training for a while due to a family passing away she would regularly stay in contact with me to check on how i was. this really meant a lot to me during a time i was feeling vulnerable.

I managed to loose the 5 kg in about 12 weeks, but the unexpected gains i achieved was a better looking body that was more defined and a stronger body too. I also felt that despite all the pressures of parenthood and family tragedies i faced, going to bootcamp positively impacted my metal health. i felt that i was a more optimistic about life. i would highly recommend Randa to anyone who wants to achievetheir goals for once and for all. trust me you will never look back !
