JAFFA NUT BROWNIE

I am so excited to share this amazing dessert recipe with you.

Its as easy as 1,2,3!

Not only is it easy to make but its deliciously amazing and is good for you. Its nice to be able to know that you can have dessert once in awhile.

I myself am a fan of having dessert, so knowing that I can have this one and know that I will be able to burn it off is even better!

Try my Jaffa nut brownie its only 129 calories per slice!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup dates chopped and pitted
1 orange rind and juice
1/1/2 cups stewed apple or pear pureed
1/2 cup self raising flour
1/2 cup whole meal flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup cocoa or carob powder
1/4 cup brown or raw sugar
3/4 cups nuts of your choice
1/2 cup choc chips or carob chips

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees. place dates, orange rind and juice in a bowel and microwave for 1 minute or until dates are soft.
    Allow to cool.
  2. Place pureed apple/pear and date mixture in a bowl.
    Add all remaining ingredients and fold through until just mixed.
    Do not over mix, it will be a sticky wet mixture.
  3. Place mixture into baking dish and place into oven for 30 minutes until cooked, nice, soft and moist on the inside.  Serve with whipped cream, or berry mix on the side.
